Scorpions in the Bible

Many years ago I was reading a book by a popular preacher about the End Times. And he was taking everything in the Book of Revelation literally. Frogs leaping out of a beast that can hardly be described… scorpions were helicopters, or something to that effect… it was just crazy. My discerning mind knew other wise. Soon after I had discovered the late Pastor Jack who taught me to think a new way.

So, taking the book of Revelation SPIRITUALLY, let’s look at scorpions as Father would have us. The scorpion moves along in a threatening attitude, as it is approaching its prey, almost dancing like a prize fighter. Does this confuse the victim? Does this hypnotize the Contender?

Ok, the scorpion is dancing its threatening jig and coming at the contender. The champion takes a jab and another jab and final gets a hold of the contender who is now the Victim. Let’s stop right there. That’s what happens in the world of bugs… how bout the here and now?

Let’s say that the scorpions represent a System, a Political system. The Beast (system) spoken of in Revelation… which means ‘to make known’…. That should tell you that we need to study up on the book of Revelation…. Cause we are one of the characters in the mother of all show downs. Why would Father spend so much time on all of this imagery for us to just zip, rapture us out of here???

Now we have a  leader or leaders of the Beast system, parading about, not making much sense yet exerting much energy… and full of babble. And the Beast system – and assorted scorpions – finally gets the attention of the people.  As the victim can not break loose. When all of the sudden the stinger comes out of no where!

The stinger paralyzes the victim, the central nervous system!

The people are wondering, crying out… “This isn’t what we bargained for!?” but it is a bit too late as the stinger… the ‘hidden agenda”…. has struck in an untimely and strategic fashion. And now they are ‘socialized’ and very needy upon government. The dream of Satan the Antichrist is at hand.

Now for the yucky part…. The scorpion can Not digest food on his own, so he needs to regurgitate digestive fluids (diabolical verbage) onto the victim…. This is a relentless assault!!  The key word here is DIGEST. Think about John who was “immediately in the spirit…”.“the little book”. He eats the book and in his mouth it is as sweet as honey but soon it is bitter in his belly. The Word is as sweet as honey in the beginning… It is time for Jubilation!!! You were lost, but now you are found…. And after your ‘training’ You are set out. And the bitterness begins….

So what does that have to do with the scorpion not having a digestive system? He knows the Word well enough to change words around…. But he can NOT digest the Word and understand….. Now to the study…

Abounded in the great desert.

Deuteronomy 8:15 Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;

I can only attest of my own life and my own struggles… those times when I find myself wondering in my own desert of lostness and I become sick of myself and long to prodigal son my way back home to the Father. The ‘water’ of course symbolizing that Living Water John 4:10. We don’t want to find ourselves lured out in the desert of life. James 1:4. Incidentally, the word drawn, in James means to be dragged…

The word serpent means snake, from another word meaning; to hiss. e.i. to whisper a (magic) spell. Generally to prognosticate. Can you picture Lucifer whispering to Eve? How far away was Adam at the time I wonder… “Ye shall not surely die!” And so Eve did eat of the fruit of Lucifer’s lies (such as the scorpion’s regurgitation)…. And preachers seem to look over a minor detail in Gen. 3:15. God puts enmity between the seed of Eve and the seed of Lucifer…. The word seed as it is used means sperma… Just thought I’d throw that in there….

Keeping with the topic of our study about of scorpions…. Where are scorpions generally found? In the wilderness or under rocks… in crevices. Nasty lonely places. Places where we shouldn’t be found. A place where only fools go.

So, when the scorpions of Revelation enter the stage…. Will you find yourself caught in the wilderness? Where scorpions will find you? Stay in your Father’s Word and pray, converse, with the Almighty without ceasing. Draw nigh unto Him. And rightly divide the Word. And you will NEVER find yourself under the spell of a scorpion…

The word scorpion as it is used in Deut. 8:15 figuratively means; a scourge or knotted whip. In Mark 19:34 and Luke 18:33 the word scourged (#3164) means to war, Fig. to quarrel dispute. Satan a/k/a the Antichrist needs to appear as the lamb slain! He has to be peaceful. So his Beast system will try to lure you into the wilderness, where there is NO Living Water!

Remember Rev. 13:16 he will “….. CAUSETH all” not MAKE….

Matthew 10:17: But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; 19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.

Deliver you up and scourge you in THEIR synagogues. Not YOURS. To quarrel with you. Yet we take no thought what we will say… it will be given to us through the Holy Spirit. This is crucial Dear Hearts… We MUST allow the Holy Spirit to speak through us! This is where my argument against ‘taking on’ the government lies…

• The Lord wants us so stripped of own power that we depend Souly on Him. So I caution you about the people that tell you to stock pile your ammo… This Revolution will be won by the Father. Rev. 16:21

Remember Deuteronomy 8:15? who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;

Flint is a very hard rock and when struck can produce fire. Jesus changed the name of Simon (hearing) to Peter (rock). And upon This Rock of Faith… Jesus would build His church.

Rev. 11:5 And if any man will hurt them (the two witnesses), fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.

1 Kings 12:11 And now whereas my father did lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father hath chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.

Ezekiel 2:6 And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

James 5:3 ”…. And shall eat your flesh as it were fire….”

So here is where I am going with this…. If we are scourged… quarreled with…. Remember in THEIR synagogues… not at the whipping post… They strike us with their evil blasphemous words…. And fire proceeds out of our mouth! We kill, character assassinate them… Because  that is what will try to do with us.

So if we do NOT heed Ezk. 2:6 and we loose faith and do NOT allow the Holy Spirit to speak through us…not a good dealio. I see 3 options…. Fight… Flight or be Right… When we are delivered up we can take up arms…. Or we can give in or we stand tall and allow the Holy Spirit to speak through us.

“dismayed at their looks” catches my eye, how ‘bout you?

Well dismayed is #H2865; to prostrate; hence to break down. Lit. by violence or Fig by confusion or fear. Jesus was tortured for over 9 hours and he did NOT break down and even preached Psalms 22 from the cross when He cried out “My God My God… why hast thou forsaken me?” and His last words are… “It is finished” The last words of Psalms 22. So I caution anyone that says…. “God forsook Jesus on the cross!” Father did NOT.

Jesus came to this earth for ONE purpose, to lay down His life John 15:13. So He knew what was going to happen.

The words “by their looks”. Intrigues me. The word looks mean face…. How and why would we become dismayed by their looks.???  I want to take a gamble here and say that they will be bluffing cause they can’t touch a hair on our heads when we are delivered up. There I have said it….

Revelation 9:5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.

The word torment is #G929 and means torture from #G928 meaning torture, pain, toil, torment, toss, vex. From #G931 meaning; a touchstone

Touchtone: 1: a black siliceous stone related to flint and formally used to test the purity of gold and silver by the streak left on the stone when rubbed by the metal 2: a test or criterion for rendering the quality of genuineness of a thing syn. standard

How genuine will those that don’t have the seal of god IN their foreheads be when they are tried?

Rev 9:4: And it was commanded them that they (the locusts) should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.

Now WHO is tormented? Those without the seal of God IN their foreheads. Which is to say their brains. It is a locust’s job to eat the green (living of the earth). So that is a dead give away that this is a Spiritual reference…
